MEHAIR has been awarded the rights to operate the Srinagar – Kargil – Kishtwar – Jammu route vide the Regional Connectivity Scheme of the Govt of India. This service is being commenced using the LET 410-UV20 Aircraft in Q2 of 2018. With this, the company is making forays in regional air services with additional routes connecting Mumbai (Juhu Airport) with Tier II towns of Maharashtra. Being launched with a 19 seat, twin engine aircraft, initially the services will connect Mumbai with Nanded, Kolhapur, Sholapur, Shirdi and Nasik. Soon thereafter the service will connect other airports in Maharashtra as well. The expected launch window for the Maharashtra service is also Q2 of 2018. This service is in line with the Central Govt.’s initiative to improve regional air connectivity vide its recently announced new aviation policy. With a strong need for such a service and government incentives backing it up, MEHAIR believes it can make such a service a big success.
